What is an electrocardiogram ?

An electrocardiogram (ECG) corresponds to the activity of energy stocked in the heart, necessary for its contractions. The exam is practised in a cardiologic service.

With the electrocardiogram you receive immediately the heart’s state of health.

How is the electrocardiogram being carried out ?

This exam is done non-invasively, it is not painful, rapid, only some ten minutes are enough to obtain the diagnosis and the characteristic pattern. Around 10 electrodes are placed on the patient, on the ankles, the wrists, and 6 on the torso. The pattern is printed onto a sheet of paper and can immediately be interpreted.
